Prospective versus Confusion
I am confused. What is my purpose, in life, now and in the future? This question has been asked, by many people. Unfortunately, many have gone to their graves never believing they never knew or ever achieved their life purpose. The truth is you may have multiple life purposes, some simultaneously and others separately.
Example: You may be a director of a library, creating programs to assist people in the community; and are a single mother of three children educating them about life. Also a few days a week you teach Bible classes to children and young adult. These are three strong life purposes.
Too many people believe a life purpose is associated with money, status, and title. That is not always true. Being a good parent; a great grandparent and prominent provider for your family are all noble and strong life purposes.
Confusion is to be perplexed or disconcerted. Not understanding what to do or where to go. Sometimes, you may become confused when there are too many people telling you what to do; when to do it and how to do it. Or, you may have an inner conflict on what you want to do versus what you need to do.
You may desire to become a musician, traveling the U.S, staying in 5-star hotels, living out of a suitcase, performing in nightclubs. But God’s life plan for you may be to a music composer writing gospel music and directing choirs, all over the world.
If you are perplexed with your future, tap into God’s 501P-Prospective. According to Merriam-Webster, prospective means (of a person) expected or expecting to be something in the future.
God’s prospective is the reality that He knew you from the beginning and He knows your end. He has good plans for your life.
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Jeremiah 29:11 KJV
Apply God’s 501P conditions:
- Can you believe that God knows you better than you know yourself? And trust He has a great future, in store, for you? Believe and trust. It may not be what you imagined, but with God it will be prosperous for you, family, and His people.
- Adhere to the L&O clause. Listen & Obey. You can lose God’s prospective when you lean on your own understanding or when your priorities are out of order. You may want to be a full-time author; however, you know you may need to work a regular job until an opportunity arises where you can stay home and write. You may choose to start your career of writing first and with little or no income and later find yourself in financial trouble. God’s prospective will teach you how, when, where and how.
- Requirements are honesty and accountability. Can you be honest enough with yourself to accept God’s plan for your life may not be what you think it should be? God may reveal to you that you should become a teacher, molding young minds. Then later to become that great author, you always wanted to become.
If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. James 1:5 KJV
