Sow the Seeds!

Sow the seeds. What does that mean? Seeds are sources of development or growth. Or, to furnish something that stimulates growth. Sow means to plant. Sow the seeds, simply means to plant an object that will encourage expansion.

For good progress, the other elements in sowing seeds are fertile ground, hydration, and sunshine. With those elements a good harvest is expected. The last component is time. It will take time for the seeds to take root, grow and flourish.

In the Bible, a seed is Word of God. For a good harvest, we must sow God’s Words the same way as sowing any seeds.

  • We cannot sow God’s seeds, until we know God’s Words. We must read God’s Word, for our development and growth.
  • Plant the Word of God into a fertile heart, an open, honest, and forgiving spiritual core.
  • Hydrate our minds with a willingness to renew our minds.
  • Allow the sunshine of the God’s wisdom to lead, guide and teach us.
  • Time. Allow time for the Word to take root.

With our children we must sow seeds by planting encouraging words of:

  • Love. We need to teach them to love self, others and most importantly to love God.
  • Integrity. Our children must be taught a moral code. The ability to discern right from wrong. To take accountability for their actions And, to know there are consequences for their behaviors.
  • Manners. Courtesy and respect will take them a long way in the world.
  • Sound wisdom. Wisdom will teach them what to do. Knowledge will guide them in how to do things. Understanding will instruct on when and why to do what they do.
  • Strength. Let us empower our children to be strong and not to be weak, pampered, and privileged.

Let us Sow the Seeds of God to our children. Right now, our children:

  • May not be ready to plant our seeds in their heart.
  • Some of our seeds will fall unto hard heart, stubbornness, rebelliousness, and hardheadedness.
  • Or the words may get choked by weeds, bad company, and the ways of the world.
  • However, those seeds we plant today, will remain in their minds. And, in the future, those seeds will come forth bearing fruit.
