Dreams, Aspirations and Hopes

What are your dreams, aspirations and hopes? When this question is posed to people, some made be stunned by the question, have no answer or stumble on a reply. While others may ramble off many unrealistic and unobtainable goals. For example, I want to be a millionaire in a month.

Before you can properly answer the question, you need to know the definitions of dreams, aspirations and hopes. Of course, there are different definitions for each word. And the definition of the three are closely related and at times used interchangeable.

I have identified the difference of the three words.

  • A dream is a strong desire, goal, or purpose. Your vision.
  • Aspiration is a strong desire to achieve something. How to achieve your dream.
  • Hope is the expectation or fulfillment of the goal. The anticipation that you will receive your dream.

In simple terms, a dream is what you want, aspiration is how to obtain it and the hope is you will receive it.

Everyone has dreams. Do you have the knowledge and drive to fulfill your dream? Are you seeking unrealistic dreams?  Do you give up on the first obstacle that occurs?

Listed next are four goal seeking techniques to apply and 4 scriptures to increase your spiritual awareness.

In the beginning, stop trusting in yourself and others to achieve your goal. If you put your trust in God, He will lead you in the correct direction. And will place the proper people in your path, if needed.

Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Proverbs 3:5-6 KJV.

Bring God your plans. Allow Him to assist you in formulating and finalizing your dream.

Commit thy works unto the Lord, and thy thoughts shall be established. Proverbs 16:3 KJV.

Remember with God, He will give you the perseverance needed to overcome all stumbling blocks. If you fail or fall, you will rise again.

16 For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief. Proverbs 24:16 KJV.

Give praise and thanksgiving to the God. He will make sure your hopes, dreams and aspirations are the correct ones for your life. And He will make sure you will receive them.

Delight thyself also in the Lord: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Psalm 37:4 KJV.

If you do not have any dreams or goals. Find  some. Life will become humdrum if your goals are going to work, coming home, watching television, and scrolling on social media. Today, make some life changing goals.

To keep your life afresh, once one goal is completed. Start a new one.
