I AM IRONMAN

I am Ironman. Tony Starks, a fictitious character, aka, as Ironman a superhero. Tony Starks, a millionaire and philanthropist, with his genius mindset created a plan and designed the Ironman suit. The armor was equipped with all types of gadgets and devices to defeat his foes. He was the creator of the first Ironman suit. In the beginning, he developed the suit because he was captured and needed an armor to escape. Later, he perfected the first suit through careful calculations and created an updated Ironman suit to battle supervillains.

We, too, have an available armor. And, we need this armor to fight our enemies. The armor of God comes equipped with devices to battle villains in life. In, Ephesians 6: 10-19, it explains the whos; the whats and the whys of the armor. If you read it and believe, you will see the armor of God is an Ironman armor. Below is a breakdown for each verse.

Ephesians 6:10

We must remember, we are made strong, through God.  He gives us our power.

Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Ephesians 6:10 New King James Version (NKJV)

Ephesians 6:11

Why do we need an armor? To be able to fight the supervillains, of the world. Who is the main supervillain? The devil. If you still believe the devil, is some figment of someone’s imagination, you are wrong. He exists and he is out to destroy you, by any means possible. If you don’t believe in the devil, his battle, with you, is almost won. The wiles of the devil are tricks and strategies to deceive you. Prepare your gear.

Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. Ephesians 6:11 New King James Version (NKJV)

Ephesians 6:12

The next verse clearly states we are not dealing with ordinary bad people. We are dealing with supervillains with super evil powers and fighting against darkness and evil. This is not only about dark magic or witchcraft, but wickedness against good values, morals and beliefs. The devil works with influences, situations and people to turn you away from God. This is his sole purpose. If you have not taken the time to obtain a relationship with God or still do not believe Satan exist, then the devil is winning.

For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Ephesians 6:12 New King James Version (NKJV)

Ephesians 6:13

As Ironman, we must put on the hard-covering protection of God to be able to daily stand up and fight! Evil comes to us constantly, that’s why it is important to keep your armor on.

Therefore, take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Ephesians 6:13 New King James Version (NKJV)

Ephesians 6:14

Look at the picture of the Ironman suit, above. Every part of his body is protected. Now, look at the Armor of God, the entire body is protected, as well. The breakdown of each body part of the armor is described and how to obtain it and use it.

Protect your waist and chest. Secure yourself with truth. Currently, there is so much deceit and lies going on in the world, it is difficult to know the difference. Lies are considered truth and the truth is a lie. Don’t be deceived. Know the truth, because the truth will set you free. How can you learn the truth, ask God, believe in Him, read His Word and stop believing people, at face value? Search for the truth.

Guard your heart. A breastplate covers your heart. Protect your heart with righteousness. You are the righteousness of God, made in His image. Know who God is and know who you are. If you have an identity crisis of who you are, read the Word and find out. With God’s righteousness, comes peace and confidence.

Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness. Ephesians 6:14 New King James Version (NKJV)

Ephesians 6:15

Secure your feet. Put on your boots/shoes of peace. Avoid walking into situations of drama, gossip and discord. Step away from evil and walk into a peaceful path. Don’t allow others to rob you of your peace. Be a peacemaker, not an instigator or a troublemaker. Walk in peace.

and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace. Ephesians 6:15 New King James Version (NKJV)

Ephesians 6:16

Take up your shield. A shield protects and defends. Faith is our shield. Faith is a strong belief or trust. Our trust in God protects us for the darts of evil people. The devil wants you to believe: God does not exist; God does not hear you; you have done way too much wrong to ever become right; God is the creator of all bad things; God will not save you; or it is okay to take an indifferent attitude toward God. Again, all of these are lies. Have faith and trust in God. Shield yourself from arrows of wrong believing

…above all, taking the shield of faith with which, you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. Ephesians 6:16 New King James Version (NKJV)

Ephesians 6:17

Protect your head. Wear the helmet of salvation. Salvation means to be saved from danger or difficult situation. The helmet will protect your mind from evil and negative thoughts within and protect from the evils outside. Protect your mind.

Hold up your sword. The Word of God is a 2-edged, sharp and powerful sword. It cuts going in and coming out. (Read Hebrew 4:12) It will cut through evil thinking, spirits, and intentions.

And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Ephesians 6:17 New King James Version (NKJV)

Ephesians 6:18

Speak fire. Our words give power, good or bad. God’s Word is power and strength. Out of your mouth should be the fiery Words of God. Prayers are intimate conversations with God. Talk to Him, often. Obey and listen to Him. He will direct your paths. The Word of God, the Bible, the scriptures are our medicine, it heals the soul and body; and refreshes the spirit. When we boldly speak the Word of God, we are casting fiery darts against evil.

Perceive with your eyes. Be always watchful with your eyes to see, perceive and understand the worldly ways. And to view the paths of God and his people.

…praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints. Ephesians 6:18 New King James Version (NKJV)

Put on your armor of God and become Ironman, be the superhero for God.
