TIGHT ROPE PERFORMERS

KEEPING YOUR BALANCE

What keeps you balanced.? Tight Rope is the skill of walking along a thin wire or rope, while using a balance tool. It is a skill of maintaining balance. Balance is a state in which multiple things occur or are performed in equal amounts, proportions and importance.

What keeps you balanced? Some examples expressed by some people:

  • Having children kept them from excessive partying, because it was not all about them, anymore
  • Purchasing a home, stopped them from overspending, because of mortgage payments.
  • Obtaining a hobby, kept their mind from everyday issues.
  • Exercising, burns away the stress of work.
  • Reading takes their mind to far away places and adventures.
  • Taking unaccredited classes allowed them an opportunity to do something they wanted to do and to have something to look forward to.

When you think of balance, budget may come to mind. People associate budgets with money. A budget is a plan, how your money is spent. However, budget, also can be defined as a quantity of “something” available and allocated for a particular situation.

  • Budget of time: How much time do you have available for something?
  • Energy. How much effort are you willing to exhaust for a dream?
  • Future: How much time, money and energy are you willing to allocate to ensure your future days are healthy, whole and prosperous?
  • You: How much of you, will you expend to keep you physically, spiritually, mentally, spiritually and emotionally sound?

If your balance tool is missing, then you may become off balanced. What is your balance pole?

Family? Friends? Spouses? Children? These are great answers. And, are very important in your life to keep you grounded. However, families disagree; friends are opinionated; spouses leave; and children move away.

Often, we think we can do things on our own. Thinking that the best balance beam is yourself. Which is true to a point. What happens when you lean too far to one side? And a fall is inevitable? The answer is God.

God should be your center to keep you balanced. God can turn curses into blessings. After destruction, He performs construction. Without God, there is no sturdy balance.

If you listen to God and obey His Word, God will never leave or forsake you.

Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.” Deuteronomy 31:6 New King James Version (NKJV)

With people, you will fall. With God, He will uphold you with His right hand of righteousness.

Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’ Isaiah 41:10 New King James Version (NKJV)

Find your balance in life. Don’t be the one who works too much and not enough play. Who spends and never saves. Who grumbles, about issues in your life, but never do anything about it. Who worries, with little worship. Or, the one who allows days, weeks and years to pass, without anything to look forward to. Find your balance and make God your balance beam.
